I ordered the simple grow kit. What I received was a kit that has everything I will need for growing, right down to the vermiculite, a fruiting light, a pretty cool little digital thermometer/hygrometer and a grow guide with color photos of important steps in the process. This little kit is the PERFECT mushroom starter kit for someone who has never attempted a mushroom grow. It make growing pretty close to fool-proof. I would recommend this kit for anyone with an interest in growing mushrooms but doesn’t want to spend a lot of money to try it out.

Well packaged and containing the essentials to start a small grow. Mine was successful and the cakes have lasted around three months so far, with a dunk between flushes. The only two drawbacks to the kit are the cheap Hygrometer/humidity gauge, which doesn’t seem to be all that accurate and is, as far as I know, not actually water proof but hey, at this price it’s acceptable. The grain jars themselves however are pretty awesome and there was no issue of contamination, which was my biggest fear, even with a straight spore syringe to grain inoculation. Even though some view the over door tek method as flawed, in my experience it worked just fine. I would definitely recommend this kit, with the proviso that you consider getting a slightly larger tub.
